Delta Worker Struck by Servicing Vehicle on Hartsfield-Jackson Tarmac

A Delta Air Lines worker was hit by an aircraft-servicing vehicle being driven on the tarmac Saturday evening at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

The worker was guiding an aircraft into Gate C-36 before she was struck by the vehicle, according to an Atlanta police report.

A video of the accident was posted on Twitter on Tuesday, showing a truck hit the woman before braking to a stop. The driver jumps out and moves toward the woman while other workers run over.

According to the police report, the worker “was laying on the ground and bleeding from her head” when the responding officer arrived. She was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she was determined to be in stable condition.

Delta issued a statement saying the employee was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was cited, Hartsfield- Jackson security confiscated his airport badge, and he was escorted from the scene by Delta, according to the police report.

Delta said it is “fully investigating” the accident.
