Lufthansa Subsidiary Swiss Cancels Flights Due to Staff Shortages

June 7, 2022

Geneva — Swiss Air Lines is cancelling several flights to Germany due to in-house staff shortages as well as a lack of workers at ground and airport service providers.

The Lufthansa subsidiary will scrap its five weekly flights between Nuremberg and Zurich from July to October, a spokesperson said on Tuesday.

In July and August, weekly flights between Berlin and Zurich will be reduced from 48 to 44, and from 13 to 10 between Stuttgart and Zurich, according to the airline.

Swiss is also cancelling one long-haul connection from Zurich to San Francisco per week.

The reduced schedule will affect some 2% of passengers, the spokesperson said.
