DUBAI: Emirates airline will conduct on-site coronavirus tests for passengers requiring certificates to enter destination countries, state news agency WAM reported on Wednesday.
Working with Dubai Health Authority, the airline administered the tests for passengers flying to Tunisia on April 15.
The test results were available in 10 minutes at the group check-in area at Dubai International Airport Terminal 3.
“We are working on plans to scale up testing capabilities in the future and extend it to other flights, this will enable us to conduct on-site tests and provide immediate confirmation for Emirates passengers travelling to countries that require COVID-19 test certificates,” Emirates Chief Operating Office Adel Al-Redha said.
The airline has also modified their check-in and boarding procedures to follow social distancing requirements and asked all passengers to wear masks at all times, even onboard flights.
