American Airlines Pilot Based in Dallas-Fort Worth Tests Positive for Coronavirus, Airline Says
This is a developing story and will be updated.
An American Airlines pilot based in Dallas-Fort Worth has tested positive for the new coronavirus, the airline said in a statement Thursday.
The airline said it was in close contact with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other public health authorities to coordinate with them on all required health and safety measures.
American Airlines’ chief medical officer and leaders from its pilots’ office have been in touch with the pilot.
A source familiar with the matter said the pilot was recovering well.
American Airlines did not immediately respond to questions about when the pilot tested positive for COVID-19, how recently the pilot had flown and whether crew members and passengers on any recent flights were being notified.
