Georgia’s air cargo recorded a slight decrease last year, Trend reports citing Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
According to the agency, in 2019, the volume of goods transported by air amounted to 24,911 tons, which is 543.5 tons or 2.14 percent lower than in 2018.
According to statistics of the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), the number of arrivals in the country's airports in 2019 decreased by 1.9 percent compared to 2018.
International departures from Georgia’s airports decreased by 1.7 percent compared to 2018, while the number of domestic flights increased by 12.3 percent.
In addition, a decrease of 12.7 percent was recorded in flights bypassing Georgian airspace.
