Jul. 23—Russia and Uzbekistan will create a joint center for the repair of engines of military and civilian helicopters in Chirchik city of Tashkent region in Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to the press service of UEC-Klimov JSC.
According to the information, UEC-Klimov JSC (part of the Rostec United Engine Corporation) and the Chirchik Aircraft Repair Plant in Uzbekistan have signed a general agreement on the organization of the Center for Medium Repair of TV3-117 Helicopter Engines and VR-14 Main Gearboxes.
It is noted that under the agreement, the Russian side will supply necessary equipment, parts and assembly units, as well as provide a certified technical team of specialists.
In turn, the Chirchik Aviation Repair Plant will provide production facilities for the organization of a Medium Repair Center and equip it in accordance with the established requirements.
"The document regulates not only the procedure for performing work on the repair of aircraft engines, but in fact determines the strategic interaction in terms of studying, systematizing and disseminating best practices in the field of after-sales service, searching for and introducing progressive scientific and technical developments and the latest technologies necessary for the development of the service direction in aviation industry of both countries," executive director of UEC-Klimov Alexander Vatagin said.
The Chirchik Aviation Repair Plant is the leading enterprise in Uzbekistan for the overhaul and modernization of civil aviation equipment, including Mi-8, Mi-8MT, Mi-17 helicopters, as well as the repair of equipment, components, assemblies and systems, measuring instruments and control and testing equipment.
UEC-Klimov JSC is a Russian enterprise in the engine-building industry, engaged in the development and production of gas turbine engines and control systems for airplanes and helicopters.
