The company has developed an innovative new workforce training program, the Magnetic Academy, which aims to alleviate labor shortages in the aircraft maintenance sector.

Magnetic MRO, Estonia’s largest aircraft maintenance company, known for its international reach, is taking a bold step against the current economic situation. The company has developed an innovative new workforce training program, the Magnetic Academy, which aims to alleviate labour shortages in the aircraft maintenance sector.

Magnetic MRO, known for its high level of maintenance services in the aviation sector, has launched the Magnetic Academy, a workplace-based training program that aims to train between 60 and 100 new aircraft engineers in the coming years. This program is unique in that it offers an opportunity to those with no previous aviation education or experience. It will also provide additional training opportunities for professionals already in the company.

The program combines Magnetic MRO’s practical experience with the academic knowledge of the Riga Transport and Telecommunications Institute (TSI Riga). „Our aim is to fill a critical gap in the skilled workforce that is essential for Magnetic MRO’s development and growth,“ says Risto Mäeots, CEO at Magnetic Group

Ene Krinpus, HR manager at Magnetic Group, emphasizes the importance of the program. „Magnetic Academy provides an opportunity for those who want to pursue a career in aviation but lack the necessary background or education. We believe it will open the door to aviation for many talented people.“

Magnetic MRO is part of Magnetic Group, a global aviation company, offering a wide range of services for the aircraft and engines, asset trading and technical training. Currently, the company employs around 450 people in Tallinn and will need around 100 new aircraft mechanics and engineers in the coming years.

The Magnetic Academy program will not only provide new jobs, but also make a significant contribution to the development of the aviation sector. Risto Mäeots adds: „Aviation is not just about passenger transport; it also includes vital services such as the transport of goods, medicines and food. The skills and commitment of our team are at the heart of this ecosystem.“
