AviationManuals has updated their popular SMS solutions to offer support to Part 125 operators. Part 125 applies to aircraft with seats for 20 or more passengers or aircraft with a maximum payload of 6,000lbs or more. The updated AviationManuals’ SMS solution was revised so the procedures and SMS software meet the needs for Part 125 and the flight departments operating these large aircraft.

AviationManuals routinely monitors changes in FAA rules and rulemaking and continually strives to make SMS accessible to all operators. Under current guidance, the FAA recommends that Part 125 operators follow the SMS Voluntary Program (SMSVP). After a close review of this program by the safety experts at AviationManuals, the updated SMS solution includes recommended best practices and scalable procedures for all Part 125 operators and to support those wishing to participate in the program.

“It really is important that as many operators as possible participate in SMS, and we are glad to expand our safety services to give operators this option,” said Mark Baier, CEO of AviationManuals. “These updates for Part 125 operators provide clear guidance on what to do and what actions to take to implement an effective SMS to ultimately be a better, safer operator,” Baier said.
