Aircraft Propeller Service, LLC (APS) one of the world’s leading commercial aircraft propeller Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organizations, has earned another significant certification. This latest recognition comes from the Brazilian Navy Air Division Navy Certification Division (DAERM) and enables APS Brazil to perform maintenance, overhaul, repair and inspection of servo actuators that equip UH-12 and UH-13 Squirrel helicopters. As a result, the Brazilian Navy will be able to use APS, a company licensed by the Squirrel original equipment manufacturer (OEM), to increase the safety and reliability for its Squirrel fleet.
According to APS Brazil Quality, EHS and Training Manager Mauricio Mazzini, “We received the DAERM certification following an audit of our company which took place at the end of October 2019. The audit involved the direct participation of experienced auditors Colonel Fabio (DAERM) and Lieutenant Rubens (DAERM). Our audit results were excellent with no identified nonconformities.”
This latest certification is in addition to others APS Brazil has received from the Brazilian Armed Forces. Specifically, they include the Army Aviation (DMAVEX) and Brazilian Air Force (DIRMAB) certifications.
Mazzini noted that APS Brazil may participate in bidding for the overhaul and repair of servo actuators used in the Brazilian Navy Air Fleet which is comprised of Squirrel helicopters. Currently, the Brazilian Navy Air Fleet consists of 25 helicopters.
