Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen and Asiana Airlines Signed a Technical Support Agreement on V2500 Thrust Reverser

Nov. 19, 2018
Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen will support Asiana Airlines in developing its in-house capabilities for the V2500 thrust reverser and other related components by providing technical training, tools and equipment as well as on-site support.

Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen and Asiana Airlines signed a five-year agreement for technical support on V2500 thrust reverser. Under the terms of the agreement, Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen will support Asiana Airlines in developing its in-house capabilities for the V2500 thrust reverser and other related components by providing technical training, tools and equipment as well as on-site support.

The aim is to establish a flexible and mutually beneficial cooperation based on the respective expertise and needs of both companies and to deepen their relationships. With the quality standards and experience of Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen, Asiana Airlines will take a significant step towards building its own repair capabilities instead of outsourcing the services.

"This joint approach allows us to build innovative repair services that cover more than the V2500 thrust reverser, with benefits such as increased aircraft availability and a close relationship with a world-class MRO service provider," said an Asiana representative on behalf of Chang Young-il, Executive Vice President Maintenance & Engineering at Asiana Airlines.

"The MRO cooperation between us and Asiana Airlines has been in place for more than 25 years," said Gerald Steinhoff, Senior Vice President Corporate Sales Asia Pacific at Lufthansa Technik. "We will offer our customer full availability and fast access to capability development."
