Lufthansa Technical Training and SAMC Signed a Memorandum of Understanding at Airshow China

The MoU intensifies a closer strategic partnership between the two companies in on-the-job training of skilled technicians.

On Nov. 7th, 2018, Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Company (SAMC) and Lufthansa Technical Training, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik AG, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Airshow China in Zhuhai. The MoU intensifies a closer strategic partnership between the two companies in on-the-job training of skilled technicians. 

SAMC is a subsidiary of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) and is responsible for the production of ARJ21, C919 and CR929. It provides four major businesses, including final assembly, key components and parts fabrication, MRO and retrofit and composite material. The company undertakes the vital task of developing China-made-aircraft and is determined to be the most efficient and most trustworthy manufacturer.

Lufthansa Technical Training is a leading independent global training provider for staff involved in the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) industry for aircraft, engines and aircraft components of civil aviation. From basic technical training and type-related further training to competence training, Lufthansa Technical Training offers courses important for safety, reliability and economically-oriented qualifications.

The letter of intent outlines a strategic cooperation between SAMC and Lufthansa Technical Training, including training system development, new staff training, advanced training for skilled technicians and facility planning for practical training. SAMC and Lufthansa Technical Training college will apply advanced training methods and modules from Lufthansa Technical Training in a joint education program. SAMC and Lufthansa Technical Training endeavor to built-up a modern platform for on-job training with dual system and evaluation through the contemplated initiative.
