Paris, Amstelveen, 6 November 2015 - Located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone near the new Dubai World Central (DWC) international airport, since July 2015, this latest logistics centre has been providing a stock of serviceable spares for all supported aircraft types, including Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft. With this local storage facility AFI KLM E&M can now meet the needs of clients in the Middle East and elsewhere with a tenfold increase in efficiency.
Ultra-responsive in the event of an AOG
With this forward spares pool, the new Dubai logistics centre delivers an even faster response in the event of an AOG. Vincent d'Andrea, AIR FRANCE KLM E&M SVP Components Product, said: "We can now meet demand within tightly restricted timeframes with a guarantee for our clients of getting hold of a serviceable part in the shortest possible time. The centre's strategic geographic location, close to what is effectively the hub of the Middle East, means we can meet demand from our clients throughout the region. It also brings us closer to India, which has frequent flights to Dubai. The spares pool, as well as our personnel on the spot, is as close as possible to our clients and so can optimally satisfy their needs." Ultimately, the centre should also be capable of receiving unserviceable components for overhaul or repair in situ or at other facilities in AFI KLM E&M's global MRO network.
