LTLS Takes Responsibility for Transport Logistics for Lufthansa Technik Puerto Rico
Lufthansa Technik Puerto Rico (LTPR) has entrusted its spare part logistics to Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services (LTLS). The contract is already in force and is to run for one year and will extend automatically unless canceled by one of the parties.
As part of the contract, LTLS will take on responsibility for all inbound and outbound transports from the U.S., Europe, and Asian countries to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, including customs clearance. In addition to routine transports, AOG consignments are also included as well as special transports, such as transporting engines. The consignments are primarily transported by air freight in order to ensure that the spare parts are on site as quickly as possible.
"We are delighted at the trust Lufthansa Technik Puerto Rico is placing in our transport services. Because the location is still regarded as in development, we expect the consignment volume to grow to approx. 9,000 units per year. We expect average revenue of up to three million euros per year," says Dr. Christian Langer, Managing Director of LTLS.
"The transport concept developed by LTLS for LTPR really appeals to us," says Elmar Lutter, Managing Director of Lufthansa Technik Puerto Rico. "The best transport routes are sought in each case in order to minimize turnaround times and costs."
