MRO provider becomes 1 of only 4 regional aerospace companies with the (MBE) certification

Everett, Washington (July 18, 2014) Aviation Technical Services (ATS) was certified and recognized as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) with the Northwest Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council, one of the 24 regional affiliates of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSCD). ATS becomes only one of four aerospace MBEs within the Northwest Mountain region which represents Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. The council network functions as a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, which identifies and certifies minority suppliers, facilitating procurement opportunities to bridge the gaps between minority suppliers and Corporate America.

The MBE certification is a highly coveted certification for minority-owned businesses in the United States. To receive this designation, a company must be at least 51 percent owned, operated and controlled by an ethnic minority U.S. citizen and undergo a stringent review process, which includes a tour of the offices and headquarters of the Company and the confirmation of ethnic identity of the Company's founders, managers and investors.

“We are honored to receive MBE certification, which will help us connect with large corporations, local, state, and federal government department entities and contribute to the future of aerospace in the U.S. and beyond,” said Matt Yerbic, ATS President and CEO.

ATS’ certification was granted June 11th by the board of directors of the regional council and will be listed in a national database, which can be accessed by all 24 regional minority supplier development councils and over a thousand corporations and businesses across the country.
