15 Years of Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services (LBAS)
LBAS celebrates its 15th anniversary: Since its foundation in 1997, Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services GmbH has grown into a worldwide leading supplier of MRO services for all Bombardier Learjet*, Challenger* and Global* business jets.
LBAS originally started with a team of 17 employees as a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik AG, the leading supplier of technology services in aviation, and Bombardier Aerospace, the world`s third largest aircraft manufacture. As a result, LBAS became the first service centre outside of North America partially owned by Bombardier, serving customers from Europe, Middle-East and Africa.
ExecuJet Aviation Group joined as the third shareholder in 2005 and complements the portfolio with excellent services for business jet operators.
Throughout the years, LBAS grew steadily and acquired an extraordinary reputation in servicing and overhauling Bombardier business jets. The offered services are continuously extended and adapted to the customer's demands. With reference to this, LBAS was the first to carry out an installation of a satellite television system and the first assembly of the brand new Lufthansa Technik nice® in-flight entertainment system into a Bombardier Global aircraft. With more than 170 highly qualified employees, LBAS is able to offer a large number of different services for business aircraft, from the full spectrum of line and base maintenance, upgrades and modifications of aircraft systems to overhauls of cabin interior in cooperation with its accredited partner OHS Aviation Services.
Christoph Meyerrose, Managing Director of LBAS, thanks all customers, employees and business partners for the excellent and lasting cooperation and looks optimistically to the future: "Our highly qualified, customer-oriented and extremely motivated employees as well as our outstanding products are the basis for the success of LBAS over the last years. We will continuously work on improving our products and innovation strength in the future."
Dr. Hans Schmitz, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, complements: "I am proud to highlight the successful development of LBAS. With a combination of the highest quality standards and excellent service in business aviation, LBAS has succeeded in being chosen this year by Bombardier and its customers to be the best worldwide Bombardier Authorized Service Facility. This is a special distinction in the fifteenth year of its existence."
