AMC 2018, which ran from April 9 to 11 in Orlando during MRO Americas, set records this year, a total of 69 teams with 25 school teams and three all female teams (United Airlines’ Chix Fix, Elevate Aviation’s Elevateaviators, and Pratt & Whitney’s WiseWomen) participated this year. The setup was different than previous years as instead of a block of space for the events it was an aisle so students and vendors got a lot of visibility from show attendees.
The awards ceremony was held Thursday in rooms upstairs instead of on the show floor and it was standing room only. The sponsors outdid themselves with additional prizes of tools, scholarships, training, and more to first place finishers, sometimes in each category and sometimes emphasizing school teams.
