September 11th: Never Forget that Day, the Heroes, their Families

Sept. 11, 2017
Today is the day to remember 9/11, to honor each hero lost on 9/11, and to remember our fallen military heroes since September 11, 2001.
On September 11, 2001, our lives were forever changed, a day that we must never forget. For some American families, there is one other day that is etched in their memory. The day that they received "that knock on their door" and were notified that their military husband or wife, their dad or mom was killed while serving our country. Most Americans don't know the pain of "that knock on the door."

It has been 16 years since that tragic September day. During those years the lives of many American families have been dramatically altered. Many men and women volunteered to serve our nation knowing they were risking their lives. And during those 16 years, too many families have received "that knock on their door, " and their lives have been forever changed. Their service and sacrifice is something we must never take for granted. We must remember and honor the sacrifices of our fallen heroes and the families they left behind.

America's Blessings

In America, we are blessed with men and women who volunteer to serve and risk their lives so that we can live in freedom. In America, we are blessed with military families who also serve and sacrifice, who live each day worrying about the safety of their hero. In America, we are blessed with true heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for their family and each of us. In America, we are blessed with families of our fallen who have sacrificed more than we can ever imagine; wives and husbands, daughters and sons, who have answered "that knock on the door," who now live each day without their hero, so that we can live each day with ours. In America, we must never forget these blessings.

So on this day, and each day forward, promise to remember and honor the heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice since 9/11, and to remember the families of those heroes, who over the past 16 years have made and continue to make extraordinary sacrifices.

Today is the day to remember 9/11, to honor each hero lost on 9/11, and to remember our fallen military heroes since September 11, 2001.

Tomorrow will be a day that we ask you to join us and help deliver a message of healing and inspiration to the children and families of America's fallen military heroes; the families of those who have sacrificed their life since 9/11.
