Several People Detained After Trespassing at Key West Navy Base, Officials Say

March 2, 2022

A group of people was detained after trespassing at the Truman Annex of Naval Air Station Key West Wednesday morning, according to the Navy.

Key West police had the group in custody, and agents with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service were on the way to the Southernmost City to interview them, said Navy spokeswoman Danette Baso Silver.

Baso Silver did not have the exact number of people in the group, nor their nationalities.

Since the fall of 2018, four Chinese nationals have been arrested on charges of taking photographs of military facilities in Key West.

This developing story will be updated.
