FACC Launches COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign for Employees and their Families

May 28, 2021

From the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, FACC AG has consistently introduced measures to protect the health of its workforce. In addition to the 50,000 blanket tests that have been carried out to date, the Austrian company is now taking the next important step towards offering its employees and their families optimal protection with its long-planned COVID-19 vaccination campaign, which will be supported by a team of physicians.

Safeguarding the health of its workforce is a top priority at FACC. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the in-house Corona Task Force has been convening several times a week to regularly evaluate the situation and implement appropriate protective measures to keep the risk of infection within the company as low as possible.

FACC was one of the first companies in the region to offer all members of staff comprehensive blanket tests, during working hours and on a voluntary basis, in the autumn of last year. This fast and efficient testing offer has been well received throughout the company: with a participation rate of 99.75 percent, more than 50,000 rapid antigen tests have so far been carried out among the workforce, thus effectively contributing to good employee health. "The safety of each and every one of our employees is a top priority for us. Thanks to a comprehensive set of measures including protective masks, physical distancing and regular blanket tests, we have been able to keep the risk of infection at our company to a minimum," emphasized FACC CEO Robert Machtlinger.

Fighting the pandemic with shots

“With our in-house COVID-19 vaccination campaign, we are now taking the next step. After all, the only lasting solution to the corona pandemic is to vaccinate the population as quickly as possible. As a leading company, we are committed to doing our part by providing our employees with fast and direct access to vaccinations. The vaccines are ready and waiting - together with our company physicians, we can now offer immunization to all employees who are willing to get vaccinated,” added Machtlinger.

FACC was allocated a quota of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine by the state of Upper Austria. The vaccinations will be performed by the company physicians from May 27 in a designated vaccination line at the premises of the FACC plant in St. Martin im Innkreis. For FACC, the vaccinations are not only crucial for the protection of the workforce, but also play an important role in kick-starting personal customer contact, which took a heavy blow as a result of the corona crisis. “As an aerospace group operating at an international level, vaccination protection is crucial for us - it enables us to safeguard the development, production and delivery of our high-tech products in the best possible way and sustainably strengthen our position in the market," said Machtlinger.

Moreover, FACC has made its vaccination infrastructure available to companies in the immediate vicinity. Besides its own workforce, individuals from 20 other companies will receive fast protection close by in FACC's vaccination line. Machtlinger: “As one of the largest employers in the region, we are also fulfilling an important role by taking on local responsibility for the health of many people in the area.”
