Kathmandu — A small passenger plane carrying 22 people has gone missing from Nepal’s central region, officials said. The Tara Airlines plane was flying to Jomsom from Pokhara, a popular tourist hub around 200 kilometres west of Kathmandu, with three crew members and 19 passengers when it lost contact with the air traffic at around 9:55 am (0410 GMT) on Sunday, according to Nepal Police spokesperson Bishnu Kumar KC.

"There are four Indians, two Germans and 16 Nepali nationals in the plane," KC told dpa. KC said that an aerial and ground search was under way to locate the missing plane. "We have not been able to send helicopters there because of bad weather in that area," KC said.
