EgyptAir Flight Hijacked (UPDATE: Hijacker Arrested)

EgyptAir Flight 181 has been hijacked and according to an official release from the airline's website. 

The release states the flight was heading from HBE Airport (Borg El- Arab Airport in Alexandria) to Cairo Airport when it was forced to be diverted to Larnaca airport in Cyprus as the aircraft was hijacked. The aircraft type is Airbus A320 with 56 passengers onboard in addition to 7 crew members and one security member. The aircraft landed safely at Larnaca airport.

The airline confirms that they are following up with the concerned authorities in Cyprus through Egypt Air IOCC and negotiations are undergoing with the hijacker. Negotiations resulted in releasing most of the passengers and the cabin crew except for 4 foreign passengers, the pilot, co-pilot and 3 cabin crew members, a release states.

UPDATE (8:20 a.m. CST) - The BBC is reporting that the alleged hijacker has been arrested and authorities say they "will question the 'unstable' suspect over his motives." Additionally, the BBC report says the suspect had "no explosives" in the belt he used to hijack the plane. All passengers and crew were released from the plane prior to the arrest.
