Boeing announced an order for a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) 737-8 from an undisclosed customer. The announcement was made at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) annual convention.

“Interest in private and business aviation has increased during the pandemic,” said James Detwiler, president, Boeing Business Jets. “BBJ is uniquely positioned to meet this growing demand with best-in class airplanes for business and leisure travel.”

The BBJ MAX family provides a unique combination of range, cabin area and cargo volume to best meet customer needs for intercontinental and trans-oceanic travel. All BBJ MAX airplanes feature lower cabin altitude for enhanced passenger comfort, integrated air stairs for independent ground operations and a flight deck outfitted for intercontinental travel.

“There is no substitute for the BBJ when it comes to comfort, luxury, utility, and value,” said Detwiler. “Customers can work with high-speed connectivity and privacy, and also dine, relax, sleep and shower in private suites, while other guests and crew have full access to the main cabin.”

As successors to the original BBJ family, the BBJ 737-7, BBJ 737-8 and BBJ 737-9 have CFM LEAP 1B engines, improved aerodynamics and advanced systems that deliver a double-digit reduction in fuel consumption and emissions and a 40% reduction in noise. This improved efficiency increases range by 400-1000 nmi depending on destination and load, while reducing operating costs below other traditional, long-range business jets.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, BBJ has booked more than 260 orders to date. Since 1996,BBJ has a proven record of providing the most reliable, high quality and luxurious flying experience for customers worldwide.
