Guy Lieser has been named CEO of Carver Aero, the owner of fixed-base operations (FBOs) in Davenport and Muscatine, Iowa.

“Guy is a quintessential aviation executive who will enhance our FBO operations, not only in terms of service offerings, but also with Carver Aero’s expansion plans in the the Midwest” said Peter Limberger, chairman of Carver Aero, and co-founder and CEO of CL Enterprises.

Lieser is an airline transport rated pilot and certified flight instructor, having logged more than 3,000 hours of flight instruction and more than 7,500 hours as pilot in command. Aviation is his lifelong passion. He began his career as a teenager, fueling planes at his local airport. Lieser went on to serve in the US Air Force and later joined the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller. He retired from the Chicago Air Route Traffic Control Center (ZAU) in 2013, after 32 years of service. During his career with the FAA, Lieser also worked as a flight inspection pilot, quality assurance specialist, training specialist, front line manager, and safety program coordinator. He received the Archie League Medal of Safety from the National Association of Air Traffic Controllers for helping a distressed pilot land safely in a storm. Lieser has worked as an aviation consultant since 2000. He attended Western Illinois University.

“We are experiencing a resurgence in general and corporate aviation as people and companies are looking at new ways to move around the country,” said Lieser. “We are similarly looking to grow, not only through our aviation services but also by acquiring additional FBOs across the Midwest and beyond.”
