Washington, DC, Jan. 29, 2018 – On Jan. 23, the National Air Transportation Association (NATA) held the first in its series of 2018 Industry Town Hall meetings with Phoenix-area companies gathering at Cutter Aviation (PHX). NATA Executive Vice President and General Counsel Tim Obitts led a discussion covering a range of issues confronting the region’s aviation business community — including improving relationships with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the impact of tax reform on general aviation, and recruiting employees to address the pilot and maintenance tech shortage confronting the industry.
“Events like these are critical to NATA better assisting its members to address the real-world issues they confront every day,” stated Obitts. “We thank Cutter Aviation for allowing us to meet at their Phoenix-Sky Harbor location and AirSure Limited for sponsoring this important series of industry meetings. General aviation is an important part of the Phoenix-metro area economy and we appreciate the important perspective attendees provided us,” Obitts concluded.
