RUSH COUNTY — At around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, a small aircraft crashed Southwest of Hargrave, located in the Northwest corner of Rush County, killing the pilot and sole occupant, Anthony P. Thompson, 56, of Apopka, Fla, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported.
The crash remains under Investigation. According to the KHP, the plane crash landed in a field and pilot was pronounced on scene.
Great Bend Airport Manager Martin Miller told the Great Bend Tribune Tuesday afternoon that the Cessna 208 Caravan utility aircraft which stopped in Great Bend was a UPS contract plane. It was on its way from Wichita to Hays.
