Authorities ID Pilot Killed in Boynton Plane Crash

BOYNTON BEACH - Authorities have identified a pilot who died Friday in a plane crash near a Boynton Beach community.

The pilot was identified as John R. Pardillio, 67, of Miami. He was the only person aboard the plane.

The plane, a yellow Grumman American AA-5, crashed at about 1:15 p.m. Friday behind the Dos Lagos community at Congress Avenue and Miner Road. It had taken off from Palm Beach County Park Airport in Lantana about 15 minutes before.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety are investigating the crash.
