Kinston Regional Jetport expands services

Aug. 04--About $5 million in aircraft are coming to the Kinston Regional Jetport through a new agreement between the Global TransPark and LGM Enterprises, and that's just the start.

"Over the next six months we will be transitioning nearly all of our charter operations to Kinston," LGM's Jim Segrave said in a statement "We have had a great relationship with the Global TransPark over the years and look forward to rapidly growing another aircraft charter company here."

Additionally, starting Friday, LGM will continue the fixed-base operations at the Jet Center, along with aircraft management and maintenance.

"We are pleased to have LGM Enterprises coming aboard to continue providing a high level of customer service to airport users while expanding the capabilities and services available at the Kinston Regional Jetport," GTP Executive Director Rudy Lupton said in a statement. "The expansion of services will provide additional private sector employment opportunities in Eastern North Carolina and have a positive impact on the local economy."

LGM announced it's looking for new personnel in accounting, charter sales, fuel purchasing, Cessna Citation-rated pilots and aircraft mechanics with a valid airframe and power plant license.

The announcement comes with additional word of two aerospace companies eyeing facilities at the GTP following meetings at the Farnborough International Air Show in England.

"Attending the International Air Show provides an incredible opportunity to meet with corporate leadership -- where else can you go and have 11 meetings with company CEOs," NCEast Alliance President and CEO John Chaffee said in a statement. "We were very pleased with the results, including those meetings with companies seeking supplier relationships and partnerships with our local companies -- it's really all about creating job opportunities for people in our region."
