Duncan Aviation recently secured Honeywell Aerospace Heavy Maintenance Authorization for the RE100 APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) series.

Under the new authorization, Duncan Aviation’s MRO facility in Lincoln, Nebraska, is now able to perform heavy repairs and in-house overhauls on the following models:

• RE100LJ
• RE100XL
• RE100CS

These RE100 series APUs are commonly used to power aircraft that Duncan Aviation maintains daily, including:

• Learjet 45
• Learjet 75
• Citation 560XL
• Citation XLS
• Citation Sovereign
• Citation Latitude

The company has 38 engine technicians who have specialized training in maintaining the RE100 series.

Duncan Aviation is also investing in new infrastructure and specialized tooling to support the new heavy APU work, including a Staley Co. modular test cell. This test cell uses advanced PLC monitoring equipment to validate performance standards, with a climate-controlled and soundproof system.

Duncan Aviation plans for in-house RE100 APU overhaul to become available in early 2027 at the company’s Honeywell Aerospace Engine Overhaul Shop. Tengine Program Manager Shawn Schmitz is slated to oversee the new heavy maintenance work.
