PGZ and Embraer Partner to Enhance Aerospace and Defense in Poland
Embraer recently signed five new five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to collaborate on enhancing the defense and aerospace sectors in Poland with Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. (PGZ).
PGZ is a state-owned defense company based in Poland.
As 2025 concludes, Embraer and PGZ will identify areas of Poland’s aerospace sector that they can improve with industrial support, such as:
- Maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MRO)
- Components manufacturing
- Operational support
- Supply chain solutions
- C4ISR activities
The collaboration also intends to focus on aerospace products, encompassing:
- Design
- Development
- Production
- Industrialization
- Engineering
- Testing
Aside from highlighting Embraer’s commitment to serving the region, these agreements also aim to create more skilled jobs in Poland’s aerospace sector.
Embraer also signed formal MoUs with PGZ’s subsidiaries, including:
- WZL-1
- WZL-2
- WSK “PZL-Kalisz”
- WBCKT
Embraer will collaborate with WZL-1 on efforts that improve technological and industrial capabilities, such as:
- Metallic and composite parts manufacturing
- Technology transfer
- Certification and quality assurance
- Emerging technologies
Through the MoU with WZL-2, Embraer will find ways to work together on MRO support and painting services for the KC-390 Millennium and additional aircraft.
MoUs that Embraer signed with WBCKT and WSK will prioritize the expansion of industrial collaborations between organizations. For WSK, this involves:
- Aircraft component production services
- Mechanical and heat-treatment processes
- Training programs
- Consulting services
The agreement with WBCKT focuses on developing ground support equipment for the KC-390 Millennium.
"Thanks to the agreements signed with Embraer, the PGZ Group gains a partner who is one of the largest aviation companies in the world,” said Jan Grabowski, vice president of the Management Board of PGZ S.A.
Grabowski continued, “Today's event confirms that we are ready to establish long-term cooperation, which will translate into increased potential for the Polish defense industry, technology transfer, and the acquisition of new competencies in one of the key areas of the modern battlefield,"
