Intuitive Strategies Solves Hiring Challenges
The lack of qualified aviation professionals was a huge topic of discussion at the recent Florida Aviation Business Association (FABA) 72nd Annual Conference held in Orlando recently.
Kathy Knowles, Chief People Officer of Intuitive Strategies, presented a workshop to address this problem and solutions to finding talented applicants. A few of the solutions presented included, developing aviation career programs, looking for applicants in non-traditional ways, using social media to post current job openings, and using videos and webinars to make your company stand out to applicants in job searches.
Kathy also discussed interviewing, and “that it really is more about storytelling. You want to ask behavioral based questions that get the candidate talking about examples of past work which help to assess whether they can do the job.” To help with the interview process a list of interview questions are available on her website at www.intuitivestrategies.com.
In another workshop, Kathy presented leadership techniques about bridging age gaps in the workplace, developing strong company-wide communication, and creating accountable teams.
Kathy is a former top-level human resource director with over 25 years in corporate aviation. She grew an aviation organization from 64 team members to over 200 and has hired over 900 new employees as well as terminated a few.
