Munich / Frankfurt, 2nd November 2015. The International Exhibition Center Munich gets a new highlight. The World Supply Fair for the Aerospace Industry AIRTEC for the first time at the Exhibition Center in Munich-Riem, from the 3rd to 5th of November. Experts from all around the world meet in the Bavarian capital to learn the latest trends in the aerospace supply industry. Major topics are environmentally friendly flying, competitive advantage through cost efficiency and the use of advanced technologies and 3D printing in aerospace.

Aerospace is one of the key industries for the future. This is not only the spirit of the Bavarian Aerospace Strategy 2030, published last spring as a guideline by Ilse Aigner, Bavarian State Minister of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology. For the business location it is very important as well to line up perfectly in global competition.

In this context, the technology-oriented trade show AIRTEC followed the call to Munich, dedicated to the optimization of the aerospace supply chain. On the occasion of her 10th birthday, AIRTEC opens its doors for the first time at the exhibition grounds in Munich Tuesday to Thursday. There are several reasons to celebrate its 10th birthday: AIRTEC is fully booked and bursting at the seams.

But more important are the contents: How can flying become more environmentally friendly? For example, by electric propulsion. There is a whole session dedicated to this issue. What are the materials of the future? Furthermore, fiber reinforced plastics? What is state-of-the-art in 3D printing? Hardly any other industry seems to benefit so much from it, such as aerospace. This is reason enough to spend a full day session on additive technologies, organized by the most renowned industry experts from the United States.

But also the saving of human lives through the use of unmanned aerial systems is a key issue at AIRTEC, besides the public discussion in which unmanned flying is often perceived as a war technology. Firefighters, the German Life Saving Association “DLRG” and German Mountain Rescue explain how much the disdained flyer already help them and how it works in detail. Especially for the Bavarian state with its vast forest and mountain regions an exciting topic for the future.

Arrived in the heart of one of the major aerospace regions worldwide, AIRTEC contributes to strengthen the business location and ensure its long-term competitiveness by highly exciting themes - not only for professionals.

AIRTEC 2015 takes place from 3-5 November 2015 at the exhibition site Munich.
