U.S. Chamber Leads Coalition Letter to the FAA on Implementation of Section 2209
WASHINGTON, D.C. - As the number of registered drones continue to accelerate in the U.S., the U.S. Chamber of Commerce today is leading a multi-association coalition letter urging the Federal Aviation Administration to urgently implement Section 2209 of the FAA Extension, Safety, and Security Act of 2016 (FESSA) to protect critical infrastructure facilities and other sensitive sites from risks posed by unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), AKA drones.
In addition, the letter contains a proposed policy framework representing areas of consensus between key industry stakeholders focused on implementation of Section 2209. We hope that the framework establishes an important starting point to successfully implement Section 2209.
