MT-Propeller’s 3-Blade MTV-9 Receives STC from FAA, EASA and TCCA

These STCs approve the scimitar 3-blade to be installed on Cirrus Model SR22 aircraft that are powered by Lycoming IO-550-N engines.

MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received supplemental type certificates (STC) for the scimitar 3-blade MTV-9-D/198-52 propeller from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Transport Canada (TCCA).

The STCs are:

These STCs approve the scimitar 3-blade to be installed on Cirrus Model SR22 aircraft that are powered by Lycoming IO-550-N engines.

According to MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht, the installation offers benefits like:

  • Takeoff distance reduced by approximately 7 % (MTOW, SL, ISA)
  • Enhanced climb by around 3% (MTOW, ISA)
  • Cruise performance improved by 3 to 4 kts (Mid GW, ISA)
  • Weight reduced by 20 lbs compared to original aluminum propellers
  • Inside noise lowered by 3 to 4 dB(A)
