SAS and Lufthansa Technik sign 7-year component services contract
SAS Scandinavian Airlines and Lufthansa Technik have signed a 7-year component supply contract, effective from March 15th, 2013, for the carrier's complete fleet of about 140 aircraft. Spare parts shall be supplied to the airline's home bases at Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo. The contract also includes IT-integration services, whereby both parties shall exchange ordering and process data electronically. This enables further efficiency gains for both parties.
The repair and pooling of the components will be done at Lufthansa Technik facilities. SAS Scandinavian Airlines shall be supported by a dedicated customer support team in addition to Lufthansa Technik's general 24/7 AOG Desk.
"We are very pleased to have entered into this agreement, which will secure high-quality, reliable delivery for us for many years to come. And I look forward to a long and successful cooperation with Lufthansa Technik," said Flemming Jensen, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer & Accountable Manager, SAS Scandinavian Airlines.
August Wilhelm Henningsen, Chairman of the Executive Board at Lufthansa Technik, commented: "I am very proud that we have been able to finalize this large and very important contract with SAS Scandinavian Airlines. It clearly demonstrates that Lufthansa Technik is able to offer attractive prices and services also in a highly competitive and cost-driven market like Europe.
