Boeing Launches 787 Dreamliner Tour In China

China is the second largest market for Boeing after the United States, and Boeing claims it has a market share of 50 percent.

Boeing (BA.NYSE) launched a six-month promotional tour of its 787 Dreamliner in Beijing, a demonstration of the importance of the Chinese market to the airplane manufacturer, state media reported. The 200- to 300-seat airplane will stop in Beijing, Guangzhou and Haikou before continuing to Africa. Air China, China Southern Airlines, Hainan Airlines and Xiamen Airlines have collectively bought 41 Dreamliners, the first of which will be delivered in 2012. Air China will receive its planes near the end of 2015, and they will mostly be used for flying routes to the U.S. and Europe, said Rao Xinyu, secretary of Air China's board of directors. China is the second largest market for Boeing after the U.S., and Boeing claims it has a market share of 50 percent, although it has not disclosed its revenue for the country.
