The Broward medical examiner’s office on Wednesday identified the two men who died aboard the plane that tragically crashed into an SUV this week, killing the 4-year-old boy inside.

The examiner, relying on dental records, identified the plane’s occupants as Yaacov Nahon and Grant Hustad.

Both men were pilots and authorities said they did not know who was flying at the time of the crash. Records show Nahon is the registered agent of the aviation company that owns the plane.

Besides the two men, a 4-year-old boy in a car on the street was killed.

Megan Bishop and her son, Taylor, were driving past the North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines on Monday when the plane dropped from the sky. Megan Bishop, a teaching assistant at Hollywood Hills Elementary, survived the impact.

The small plane — a Beechcraft Bonanza — may have had a mechanical problem before clipping a power line, authorities said. Witnesses said it was like a bomb had gone off when the when the wreckage burst into flames. The Pembroke Pines Fire Department used foam to extinguish the fire after hot fuel spilled over the plane and the street.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash, which happened about 3 p.m.

People gathered at Nahom’s house in Davie on Tuesday afternoon. They declined comment.
