A small plane has crash landed onto a road in a residential area in suburban Palatine.

No one was injured, and the lone occupant of the single-engine Cessna was talking to authorities at the scene. It did not appear that any people or cars on the ground were hit.

The plane came down at about 6 p.m. on Quentin Road, about 10 miles due west of Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling. The Cessna 177 Cardinal appeared to be banged up but largely in tact.

The plane has a pending registration application with the Federal Aviation Administration submitted by Zain Aviation, according to the FAA website. Zain offers aircraft rental and flight training and is based at Chicago Executive Airport, its website states.

No one from Zain could immediately be reached.

The village closed Quentin Road between Northwest Highway and Colfax Avenue and the Federal Aviation Administration was notified, according to a village notification.
