A plane ran off the end of the runway at Oroville Municipal Airport Wednesday, bursting into flames during a reported aborted takeoff attempt.

California Highway Patrol and Cal Fire are responding to the scene, where the fire was still burning Wednesday afternoon. State Route 162 was temporarily closed while crews battled the fire and checked for any leaking fuel.

SR162 reopened a little after 1:30 p.m.

No other details about the cause of the crash have been released.
