$21,000 Check to Support Flights for Cancer Patients
The Corporate Angel Network program recognizes corporate flight departments that fly cancer patients to needed medical treatment. A $21,000 check was presented to Corporate Angel Network (CAN) during the 2013 NBAA Annual Convention, in a ceremony hosted by program cosponsor Phillips 66.
The donation represents proceeds generated from the Corporate Angel Award program that recognizes companies and their flight departments for donating seats on business aircraft to transport cancer patients needing specialized treatment.
Typically about 3,000 free flights are arranged each year by CAN working with business aviation flight departments.
All told, more than 40,000 cancer patients have flown on flights arranged by CAN since 1981.
This year’s Corporate Angel Award recipients include the flight departments for
Colleen Corporation,
Ball Corporation,
BD,
and General Mills
