Nextant Aerospace, the maker of the Nextant 400XT, the world s only FAA-certified remanufactured business jet, today announced that it will be displaying the 400XT on a tour of South African venues, including the Durban Air Show, a leading global aviation showcase. The tour represents the first visit of the 400XT, which has received excellent reviews on three continents, to the rapidly growing African aviation market. The tour of the Nextant 400XT is being coordinated by Nextant Aerospace s exclusive African dealership partner, National Airways Corporation (NAC). Established in 1946, NAC was South Africa s first aircraft charter service and today is Africa s largest general aviation company. NAC can be reached on the Internet at www.nac.co.za and via telephone at +27(0)11 267 5000. The 400XT, which saw its first deliveries in October 2011, has a range of 3,713 km (2,005 nautical miles) with four passengers and NBAA IFR Reserves, enabling flights originating in South Africa to reach major destinations in Kenya, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of the Congo traveling nonstop. "We are pleased to bring the Nextant 400XT to the African market," said Jay Heublein, Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Nextant Aerospace. "The Nextant 400XT will be especially attractive to this market, with its distances between leading cities. The 400XT s exceptional, 3,713 km (2,005 nautical mile) range will enable travelers to reach major destinations throughout Africa without stopping. The 400XT also offers a superior combination of performance, affordable purchase price and economical operating costs that is making it the preferred choice of travelers around the world." The Nextant 400XT uses a remanufactured Beechjet 400A/XP airframe that is enhanced with new, state-of-the-art technology including the Williams FJ44-3AP turbofan engine, the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 integrated avionics suite, advanced electronics, including high-speed wireless Internet service, and completely rebuilt interiors. The resulting aircraft has a 2,005 nautical mile (3,713 km) range and cruising speed of 460 nautical miles per hour (740 km per hour). It supports a remarkable 30 percent reduction in operating costs over the Beechjet 400A/XP, fuel efficiency improvements of 20-30 percent, depending on the length of the flight segment, significantly reduced carbon emissions and noise compliance that exceeds Stage IV requirements. The 400XT is available at a cost about half that of competing "clean-sheet" designs.
