- The Herman Nelson (BT-400 NEX Series) heater consists of a forced air furnace that can burn gasoline or any type of oil, including diesel and all types of jet fuel.
- A gasoline or diesel engine drives a fan which moves air over a heat exchanger. This produces clean, breathable, extremely hot air. This air can be directed via ducts to be concentrated on the work area.
- Both the engine and furnace draw fuel from an integrated tank. BT-400 NEX Series heaters are either mounted on rugged trailers for ground transport (Diesel Heaters) or free standing to be loaded in the back of a ½ ton, transported in fixed wing aircraft or helicopter to the work site (Gas Heater – Trailer Available).
- BT-400 NEX Series heaters produce a temperature rise of “up to” 290 degrees with an air movement rate of 2,100 CFM. The heaters are certified to operate at temperatures down to -40 degrees F or C.
- BT-400 NEX Series heaters produce in excess of 400,000 BTU's
- During 2010 the "original" Herman Nelson just got better with all electronic controls and valves and CSA,
- UL and OTL certification to operate in extreme outdoor locations and/or indoor.
- In addition to the #1 selling "extreme / original" Herman Nelson, Aerotech has a full line of portable Flame
- Less Heaters that produce heat by compressing hydraulic fluids to create up to 1.2 million BTU's and
- 7,200 CFM. This technology is now the standard where the risk of spark / open flame is out of the question. Fuel depots, munition factories, gas/oil exploration or highly secured areas such as air fields and military bases. Flame Less Heat by Aerotech Herman Nelson!
