Automated Motion Inc. Re-invents Aviation Oxygen Bottle Testing and Filling

System supports the automatic filling of multiple oxygen bottle/s and provides electronic documentation.

KANSAS CITY March 1, 2017 – Automated Motion Inc. (AMI), Lees Summit Mo. today announced its latest innovation in aviation oxygen systems. The new system automates the filling of aviation oxygen bottles while validating oxygen purity and moisture content. The system supports the automatic filling of multiple oxygen bottle/s and provides electronic documentation.

Historically, the testing and refilling of oxygen bottles has been a manual operation, requiring an operator to closely monitor the refilling process. Testing of oxygen for purity and moisture content has often been overlooked or intermittently sampled - slowing the refill process. Often these systems have been internally designed and built, to meet individual’s MRO needs, said Ralph Taylor of AMI, but over time these systems have proved difficult to support and update.

AMI’s new Oxygen Testing and Filling Systems have a console design that safely secures oxygen cylinders for testing and filling operations. An integrated four stage hygrometer provides oxygen humidity, temperature, and pressure measurements. An optional water chiller is also available for shifting the measurement range, if desired. Oxygen purity is verified via an on board oxygen analyzer and the system automatically adds oxygen during the filling process to meet specifications via an associated oxygen charging system. Also included is an oxygen calibration kit.

This system, along with the AMI’s Crew Mask & Regulator Test System further expands Automated Motion’s reach in the aviation oxygen testing arena.
