Avemco® Forums Focus on Safety Tips at AirVenture

Avemco Insurance Company will present educational sessions, open to all pilots and aircraft owners before and during EAA's AirVenture 2014.

Frederick, MD. July 17, 2014 - Avemco Insurance Company will present educational sessions, open to all pilots and aircraft owners before and during EAA's AirVenture 2014.

Mike Adams, Avemco's Vice President of Underwriting, will present "Claim Proof Yourself (as best you can)", geared specifically towards Cessna & Piper aircraft at the Cessna Pilot Organization and Piper Owner Society annual "Gateway to Oshkosh" convention at Stephens Point (MKE), WI on Sunday, July 27.

As part of the Federal Aviation Administration education sessions at AirVenture, Adams will present "What Kind of Pilot Runs Out of Gas?" on Monday, July 28 at 4:00 p.m. at the FAA Aviation Safety Center on EAA grounds. Attending this FAA WINGS-eligible forum counts as 1 Credit for Basic Knowledge, Level 3. WINGS is a voluntary Pilot Proficiency Program offered by the FAA and sponsored by Avemco. On Tuesday, July 29 at 10:00 a.m. Adams will present "Claim Proof Yourself (as best you can)", geared specifically towards Bonanza's at the American Bonanza Society tent, located at Booth 334 in the Main Aircraft Display, describing types of insurance claims that don't hit the news, but can still ruin a pilot's day.

Later on Tuesday, at 2:30 p.m. at the AirVenture Forums Pavilion 3, Adams will present "Top Ten Insurance Myths." Attendees learn to separate fact from fiction regarding insuring their aircraft for the right value and the risks of flying an aircraft they don't own.

Wrapping up the Avemco forum presentation at AirVenture is "Will YOU Be a Statistic?" on Wednesday, July 30 at 11:00 a.m. at the AirVenture Forums Pavilion 3. Mike will highlight known causes of GA accidents and offer some common sense tips to help avoid accidents.

AirVenture is an important part of Avemco's ongoing Safety Education Tour - an aviation advocacy initiative that focuses on encouraging pilots to participate in relevant training for safer flying and smarter aircraft ownership.
