Paris, October 16, 2007– AFI KLM EM subsidiary CRMA is celebrating its 50th anniversary. CRMA was founded in Issy-Les-Moulineaux on the outskirts of Paris in 1957 by merging Societé des moteurs Emile Salmson and Société des Aéroplanes Voisin, both of which specialized in overhauling military aircraft and manufacturing spare parts for civil aircraft engines.

At CRMA's Elancourt headquarters beginning of October, aviation industry customers were welcomed by Anne Brachet, Air France Industries Senior Vice President, Engine Services, and Luc Bornand, CRMA's Chief Executive Officer, watched by CRMA’s employees and many of the well-known figures who have helped to write the CRMA story. Elancourt's Mayor, Mr Jean-Michel Fourgous, also honored the gathering with his presence.

Alain Bassil, Air France Industries President and Chairman of the CRMA Board said: “The CRMA of today is the result of 50 years of experience, investment and employee involvement. Right from the outset, CRMA has been customizing its product catalogue and developing innovative processes and working methods to guarantee customers high quality of service and strengthen its position in the market”.

Luc Bornand added: “Over the past decade, CRMA has invested in parts and modules repairs for the CFM56 series and for Very Big Engines, namely the GE 90 and, in the near future the GP 7200. New production lines, such as that for combustion chambers, combined with highly-skilled staff, improve customer relationships and overall quality of service.”

Air France Industries and KLM Engineering & Maintenance, which joined forces following the Air France KLM merger, are world-leading multi-product MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) providers with a joint workforce of 15,000, offering comprehensive repair capability, integration expertise, component pool operational support and a powerful logistics network. Together they support more than 900 aircraft and serve upwards of 150 major international airlines.
