Australian Government Offers Incentives to Secure Aviation Jobs

Queensland has secured the jobs of 190 aircraft mechanics.

Queensland Treasurer Andrew Fraser says the state has secured the jobs of 190 aircraft maintenance workers and an extra 70 jobs.

The workers will service the new FA18s at the RAAF's Amberley base, west of Brisbane.

Fraser says the Queensland Government offered incentives to ensure maintenance company Tasmanian Aviation did not shift the work to Williamtown in New South Wales.
