PARIS, AMSTELVEEN – Air Austral selected AFI KLM E&M to provide full support for its fleet of three B.777-200s and two B.777-300ERs. The French airline launched a tender as it geared up to integrate the two latest aircraft into its fleet. AFI KLM E&M have been supporting the B.777-200 Air Austral fleet in the previous period. The agreement between the two partners is based on an earlier contract.
"The choice was based on AFI KLM E&M's ability to bundle the full range of services into a single contract," says Gérard Ethève, Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of Air Austral. "We are also strongly attached to the service level implemented by our partner for the previous B.777-200 contract. So it seemed quite appropriate to us that, after having the support of AFI KLM E&M when we launched the B.777-200 in 2003, we entrust them with integrating the B.777-300ER into our fleet connected to the opening of our new lines on Sydney and Nouméa this summer."
"We are thrilled to continue contributing to the development of Air Austral's fleet, which enables us to demonstrate our ability to offer all-round services to our customer," says Alain Bassil, President of Air France Industries.
