Subject: Cirrus SR-22 Model Airplane's, Pilot's Operating Handbook and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-Approved Airplane Flight Manual Supplement (AFMS)
Purpose: To inform Cirrus SR-22 model airplane operators and those who oversee them of the new FAA-approved AFMS, applicable to Title 14 Code of Federal Regulation (14 CFR) part 135, § 135.163, Equipment Requirements: Aircraft Carrying Passengers Under IFR; (instrument flight rules).
Background: The six-page AFMS developed by Cirrus, and approved by the FAA Aircraft Certification Office (ACO), provides the necessary guidance for electrical load shedding in the event of the primary electrical generating source failure in accordance with § 135.163(f)(2). Recommended Action: Part 135 directors of safety, directors of maintenance, and directors of operations using Cirrus SR-22 aircraft should provide this information to employees with a need to know and understand the electrical load shedding procedures.
