Lycoming Engines has extended its offer to give customers a zero-time rebuilt engine for the price of a factory overhaul to December 4, 2009. The offer was originally scheduled to end August 31, 2009.
“We recognize that many owners may be nervous about the economy and so they are putting off new purchases in favor of overhauls,” says Todd Stoner, Lycoming vice president of marketing and sales. “We are going to repay them for their commitment to genuine Lycoming parts and service by upgrading their overhaul service to something much more valuable.”
Lycoming’s factory-rebuilt engines are built to the same limits as a new engine. They come with a zero-time logbook, just as their all-new counterparts. Best of all, they have the same two-year warranty as an all-new engine.
The amount of savings depends on the engine type, but on most engine types the savings surpass $3,000 (US) of the manufacturer’s suggested retail price. A table comparing new, factory-rebuilt and overhaul prices is available at www.lycoming.com (Choose “Engines” from the drop-down menu and then choose “Service Engines.”)The offer requires the return of a Lycoming factory new or rebuilt engine that has never been overhauled, otherwise known in the industry as a “first-run core.”
