October 2009 -- NBAA, Orlando, FL -- Conklin & de Decker is recognizing aviation industry veteran, Mike Moore for his generous donation of an extensive library of business and general aviation artifacts that he has been collecting for decades. In honor of Mr. Moore’s gift, Conklin & de Decker is making a contribution to Corporate Angel Network.

Mike Moore started his career in corporate aviation in the early 70’s when he joined FlightSafety International. After a few years at the LaGuardia headquarters he moved to Wichita to run the Learjet Learning Center and some years later moved to Arizona to open the new Learjet Center in Tucson. In the early 1980’s he shifted his focus to aircraft sales, ultimately ending up at TAG Aviation as VP of Aircraft Sales. Throughout his years in the corporate aviation business, Mike was always collecting information on the aircraft he was involved with as well as the competition. His library is a treasure trove of aircraft brochures, specifications, articles, photos, flight manuals, training manuals, databases and press releases for aircraft ranging from the ones we all know to the ones that never made it off the drawing board.

Mike and Bill de Decker became friends over 30 years ago when they both worked for FlightSafety and kept in touch after Bill moved on to Conklin & de Decker. “Mike contacted me in late spring and asked if we were interested in taking over his library since he had less need of it and was running out of room. And I said, ‘absolutely’,” commented Bill de Decker, President of Conklin & de Decker. “This was a very thoughtful gesture and since we also have an extensive technical library to support our growing business, it is a great addition, added de Decker.

This summer the boxes started arriving at Conklin & de Decker’s Arlington, Texas office. The contents are being cataloged and integrated with the materials of the existing library. The information is very inclusive and will help build comprehensive histories and data for one of the most dynamic sectors of the aerospace business – business aviation.

Mike would not accept any compensation for the contents of his library, so Conklin & de Decker will be making a $1,000 donation to Corporate Angel Network (CAN) at the 2009 NBAA Convention in Orlando in the name of Mike Moore.
