Suspicious Bag at JFK Causes Delays

Other sources said a threatening message was also found.

Authorities were investigating an unattended bag found in a parking lot last night across from three terminals at John F. Kennedy International Airport, a situation resulting in traffic jams and flight delays.

Vehicular traffic was diverted from Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

The three terminals remained in use, but there were five airline departure delays at Terminal 1. Several hundred people inside that terminal were not being allowed to leave the building, Port Authority spokesman Pasquale DiFulco said. Other sources said a threatening message was also found.

The terminals, among eight in use at the Queens airport, serve several international airlines, including Air France, plus Continental and Delta airlines.
